Privacy Policy

Overview

Veyra is a private, local-first travel memory app. This policy explains what information Veyra handles, what stays on your device, and the limited circumstances in which data is sent to service providers.

Information stored on your device

Memories, titles, descriptions, dates, destination text, saved places, ratings, favourites, journey and day-location data, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. Veyra currently has no Veyra account system and does not provide cloud archive sync. On Android, Veyra disables Android application backup for Veyra app data.

Photos and videos

Photos and videos you select are referenced from local device storage. Removing media from Veyra removes Veyra's record or relationship; it does not delete the original item from your device gallery. Veyra may create private, app-owned display copies, poster, or thumbnail files for selected media.

Location information

Veyra does not use continuous or background location tracking. Location information may come from a point you choose on a map, coordinates you explicitly select or enter, or location metadata contained in media you choose.

Reverse geocoding

When Veyra resolves selected coordinates into a city and country, the coordinates are sent over HTTPS to Veyra's server endpoint, which uses Geoapify to provide reverse-geocoding results. Only the location data needed for that request is sent. Memory titles, descriptions, notes, and photo or video file locations are not sent for reverse geocoding.

When you use location search, the city or location search text you type is sent over HTTPS to Veyra's server, which forwards it to Geoapify to obtain suggestions. Memory titles, descriptions, photos or videos, companions, and archive content are not sent as part of the location-search request. Veyra does not intentionally persist location-search history in the app. Coordinates and location information from a result you select may be stored locally as part of the Memory.

Maps

Veyra uses Google Maps SDK for Android to display maps. Google may process information associated with map requests and interactions under the Google Privacy Policy and applicable Google Maps terms.

Premium subscriptions

Google Play handles subscription payments and payment-card details. Veyra does not receive your card number. To confirm and maintain Premium access, Veyra sends a Google Play purchase token to its server over HTTPS. The server uses the Google Play Developer API to verify and, when appropriate, acknowledge the subscription. Purchase tokens are not intentionally exposed in Veyra-controlled logs.

Review access

Google Play reviewers may use a private review-access code. The code is validated by Veyra's server and provides a temporary reviewer entitlement. This does not create a Veyra account or alter a Google Play subscription.

Complimentary access

If you redeem a complimentary-access code, Veyra sends the code and a device installation identifier to Veyra's server to validate the grant. This does not create a Veyra account.

Archive export

Veyra's JSON archive export is generated locally on your device. It is shared only when you choose a destination through your device's share or save interface. The export contains archive data and metadata, not the underlying photo or video files. When you choose to share a travel story, Veyra creates a temporary local image and opens your device's share interface; it is shared only with the destination you choose.

Advertising, analytics, and accounts

Veyra contains no advertising SDK, does not display ads, and does not use a Veyra analytics or crash-reporting service. Veyra does not offer signup, login, or Veyra account creation. Third-party platform services, including Google Maps and Google Play, may process technical information under their own privacy terms.

Data deletion and retention

You can delete memories, places, and media references within Veyra. Clearing Veyra's app data or uninstalling the app removes Veyra-owned local app data according to your device platform's behaviour. Original gallery media remains separate. Reverse-geocoding requests are processed to return the requested result; Veyra does not maintain a cloud archive of your memories or media.

Security

Data sent to Veyra's server endpoints is transmitted using HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and this policy does not make an absolute security guarantee.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Veyra's features or data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
